Rockport City Secretary Shelley Goodwin has been elected secretary of the executive board of the Texas Municipal Clerks Association. Her term begins Jan. 1, 2027.
The association has more than 1,300 members from municipalities across Texas. It provides professional development and certification opportunities for municipal clerks. Goodwin has served as a board trustee for the past three years. She is a member of the Coastal Bend and Alamo chapters. She also teaches for the Texas Municipal Clerks Certification Program, which offers certification through the University of North Texas in Denton. Goodwin holds the Texas Registered Municipal Clerk and Master Municipal Clerk certifications.
In a statement, Goodwin said serving on the board is an honor. She said she looks forward to supporting members and representing the City of Rockport at the state level.
