The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has launched a new option for buying National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) policies online.

The option is open to residents of Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas who live in more than 2,500 participating NFIP communities. The story says the policies can help residents prepare for the financial costs of flooding.
