McAllen Horror Nights returned to downtown McAllen this month. The haunt is at 1100 Austin Ave. and is open from 7 p.m. until late through Halloween. Eric Trevino created the attraction, according to spokesperson Javier Luna.

Luna said Trevino has worked on this year's haunt for months, and the event has sold out almost every night since it opened on Oct. 8. A cast of 26 scare actors performs in the attraction.

Luna said each room recalls an earlier haunt from the team, including The Haunted Orchards, the San Juan Hotel, the Fright Before Christmas and Cinema of Horror. He said the idea for the revisiting was not planned and came to Trevino subconsciously.
