Students at Ben Bolt–Palito Blanco Elementary School began Red Ribbon Week on Tuesday, October 27, with a visit from agents of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

The agents spoke to students about drug prevention, personal safety, healthy decisions and staying on a good path. The school said the visit gave students a chance to learn about drug safety and making responsible choices that can affect their futures.

Red Ribbon Week is a nationwide drug prevention awareness campaign that encourages students, families, schools and communities to promote healthy, drug-free lifestyles. The school said early education can help children build knowledge, confidence and decision-making skills.
