The Santa Teresa Charitable Foundation raised $37,095 at its 26th annual charity golf tournament on Oct. 23 at Butterfield Trail Golf Club in El Paso. Oracle sponsored the event. The foundation said the total is its highest in the tournament's history.
The money will go to students in the Gadsden Independent School District. The funds will pay for school uniforms, supplies, academic honors programs, internships, and grants for academic competitions and extracurricular activities. The foundation describes itself as a nonprofit that supports educational opportunities for students in southern New Mexico.
