One person was killed and another was injured in a head-on collision between an SUV and a pickup Thursday evening in Carson County. The crash happened about 5:16 p.m. at State Highway 207 and County Road 6.
The Texas Department of Public Safety said a 2007 Kia Sportage driven by Suzen Dlee Watkins, 64, of Panhandle, was traveling north on State Highway 207. A 2019 Ford F-150 driven by Shawn Michael Woodard, 45, of Amarillo, was traveling south. The agency said the SUV attempted a left turn onto County Road 6 and entered the pickup's path.
Watkins was taken to an Amarillo hospital, where she later died from her injuries. Woodard had minor injuries and was treated and released at the scene.
