City officials and business leaders held a ribbon-cutting Oct. 21 for Leander Union, a mixed-use development east of the intersection of Crystal Falls Parkway and 183A Toll. The 13-acre project has 10 buildings with more than 40 suites, according to the development's website. Mayor Na'Cole Thompson and several Leander City Council members attended.
The development covers 155,000 square feet. It includes 40,000 square feet used by Northpoint Austin Church, 65,000 square feet planned for retail and dining, and 50,000 square feet planned for office space. Westlake Dermatology was the first business to open, on Sept. 17. Austin-based salon Mirror Mirror recently filed a permit with the state to move in, according to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
The site has 468 parking spaces, according to site plans. The development was built by Austin-based Topo Development Group. Its developer seeks to attract "a mix of local businesses, hospitality concepts and lifestyle tenants," according to a news release.
