The Woodlands High School was placed on lockdown Wednesday afternoon after school officials received a potential threat by phone, officials said. The campus was locked down as a precaution.

The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office is checking the building and investigating the threat, officials said. Videos shared with FOX 26 show armed officers checking classrooms. The sheriff's office said there are no known injuries and that the nature of the threat is not known at this time.

Reports say a student made a threat on social media and was seen running out of a classroom, and that the student was arrested. Parents gathered outside the campus, but students are not being released there. Officials said students will be bused to Bear Branch Park, where parents can pick them up. The school remains on lockdown.
