South Texas Health System (STHS) Children's partnered with Feld Entertainment on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, to bring a Disney-themed visit to pediatric patients and their families. The event came ahead of the opening night of Disney On Ice presents Magic in the Stars at Bert Ogden Arena in Edinburg.
The hospital's third-floor pediatric playroom was decorated as a Disney-themed celebration. Children took part in a coloring party with activities and giveaways. They also talked with three professional Disney On Ice skaters.
Mia Saunders, who plays the Fairy Godmother in the Magic in the Stars tour, said the skaters are used to seeing children react during performances. "Getting to spend time with them here at the hospital is just as special," she said. She added that a simple visit can bring a lot of excitement, especially for kids who are in the hospital.
