A man dressed as a zombie stabbed two people Wednesday night at Buzz Mill Coffee, 1505 Town Creek Drive, in southeast Austin, police said. The Austin Police Department said the stabbing happened at 8:54 p.m., after the man caused a disturbance inside. A witness told police the man was wearing zombie makeup and a costume.
Police said both victims were seriously injured and one was in critical condition. Police said the man fled in a pickup truck at high speed and hit an unoccupied Tesla Cybercab. Officers later took him into custody. Police said he will likely face aggravated assault charges.
People at the coffee shop told police the man had caused a disturbance there before Wednesday night. APD could not provide details about prior incidents. Police said detectives are working to determine whether the man had any relationship with the victims.
