About 50 Houston-area 7th grade students attended the Disney Dreamers Academy kickoff party at the Fresno Boys & Girls Club. The event marked the program's new partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs.
Students moved through four stations representing Epcot, Disney's Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom, and received a passport stamp after each one. They also had their photos taken and decorated Mickey ears. Disney characters, including Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, appeared at the event.
Tajiana Ancora-Brown, Director of External Affairs at Disney, said the company believes community support makes a meaningful difference. For more than 20 years, the academy has taken 100 high school students a year to Walt Disney World in Florida. The pilot program will serve 200 middle school students in the Houston, Orlando, Atlanta and Miami metro areas, beginning in January 2027. It is expected to include Boys & Girls Clubs values, including community service.
