Amarillo City Councilman Les Simpson has not announced whether he will run for mayor in 2027. According to web domain registration records, the website lessimpsonformayor.com was registered in April 2026. The records did not list public ownership details for the domain.
A direct search shows the web address redirects to the campaign website Simpson used in his last City Council campaign, lessimpson.com, the Pioneer reported.
Simpson, a former newspaper publisher who now works as a business consultant, has served on the council since 2023. He has been rumored as a possible mayoral candidate but has not confirmed his plans publicly. Incumbent Mayor Cole Stanley has also not confirmed whether he will seek re-election. Candidate filing begins in January 2027.
