Several towns and school districts in Frio and La Salle counties have announced Veterans Day events. The day is marked on November 11 to honor people who have served in the armed forces. The date and time recall the moment in 1918 when the armistice ending World War I took effect.
Dilley City Hall will host its traditional Veterans Breakfast at the City Convention Center on Miller Street from 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday, November 7. La Salle County will hold a ceremony on the courthouse lawn in downtown Cotulla at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 10, with honors and guest speakers. The public is invited.
On Wednesday, November 11, Pearsall ISD will hold a Veterans Day car parade starting at 8:45 a.m. at Pearsall High School. Veterans are asked to gather at the high school at 8:30 a.m. Cotulla ISD will host a student presentation for the public at 10 a.m. in the Ramirez / Burks Elementary Gymnasium, followed by a luncheon for local veterans.
