The Cy-Fair ISD board of trustees is scheduled to discuss budget amendments and district, campus and local improvement plans for the 2026-27 school year. The work session is Nov. 5 and the regular meeting is Nov. 9, both at 6 p.m. in the Mark Henry Administration Building Boardroom at 11440 Matzke Road in Cypress.

Five district propositions are on the Nov. 3 ballot. Proposition A would increase the maintenance and operations tax rate by 12 cents, for a total property tax rate of $1.1569 per $100 of home valuation. The other four make up a $1.63 billion bond referendum, including $1.3 billion for critical infrastructure, safety, security and transportation; $256 million for instructional technology; $60.8 million for existing high school athletic stadiums; and $20.1 million for existing pools. District officials said that if the tax rate election fails, the trustees will need to adopt a rate of $1.0369 per $100 of valuation for the 2026 tax year at a regular meeting.

Other agenda items include the annual comprehensive financial report for fiscal 2025-26, two administration reports on formative assessment data and student screen time monitoring, and the recommended 2027-28 instructional calendar. The District Educational Improvement Council is accepting feedback on two calendar versions until noon on Nov. 4, according to the district website. The board will also consider three policy revisions covering required instruction, naming facilities and library materials.
