Diane Day, an East Texas radio personality, will be inducted into the Texas Radio Hall of Fame on Saturday at the Texas Broadcast Museum in Kilgore. Day said she has worked at KYKX 105.7 since 1986.

Day said she got into radio after struggling with other subjects. "I was horrible at other things; math and geography but, you know, talking I was fine. So, radio made sense," she said. Longview resident Suzanne Smith said Day's voice draws listeners in.

Day is one of 20 radio personalities from across Texas chosen for the honor, according to the station's report. The story cites the Department of Labor Statistics for a figure of about 1,500 radio personalities in the state. Longview Mayor Kristin Ishihara has proclaimed November 7 Diane Day Celebration Day in Longview. Day said she will continue broadcasting on KYKX for the foreseeable future.
