Students at Floresville High School were evacuated on Oct. 22 as a precaution after a fire alarm sounded on campus. Wilson County Emergency Services District 5 was dispatched just after 10:30 a.m. that Thursday.
Floresville Independent School District said a faulty switch activated the alarm. In a social media statement, the district said, "There was no fire, and no students were in danger."
Fire crews remained on scene to investigate. Students and staff were cleared to return to the buildings at about 11:16 a.m., according to Meredith Balzen, the district's communications specialist and public information officer.
