Forecasts show a warm Halloween night for trick-or-treaters across Texas. Highs on Saturday, October 31, are expected to be in the mid to upper 70s across the region. Rain chances are spotty on the eastern side of the state and absent on the western side.
The Lake Charles National Weather Service said afternoon storms will decrease through the evening but may briefly disrupt trick-or-treating. It gave a 20 to 50 percent chance of precipitation. Temperatures are expected to drop to the low 70s around 8 p.m. Overnight lows are forecast at about 60 to 65 degrees statewide.
The forecast said these temperatures are about 10 degrees warmer than the average from the last five years. Last year's high was 74 degrees, and 2024's was 71 degrees. Flood watches have been issued for West Texas due to the remnants of Tropical Storm Vance, and more tropical remnants from the Eastern Pacific are expected to move over West Texas in the coming days.
