Tropicana Companies has awarded more than $170,000 in scholarships to five students in El Paso, Texas.

The scholarships were awarded in partnership with Western Technical College. They will cover full tuition for students studying heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC).

According to Tropicana Companies, the program is meant to help local residents build technical skills.
