Victoria police said a 20-year-old Victoria man was arrested on multiple charges following an early Sunday morning shooting that injured another man. Officers responded around 1 a.m. to a reported shooting at a residence in the 900 block of Westwood Drive, according to the Victoria Police Department.
Police said a 26-year-old man was located before officers arrived and taken to a hospital for treatment. Police have not released details about the nature or severity of his injuries.
After a preliminary investigation, officers arrested Zaidyn Treviño, 20, on charges of evading arrest, unlawful carrying of a weapon and public intoxication. Police said Treviño also had an outstanding felony warrant. Authorities have not said what led to the shooting or whether Treviño is suspected of firing the weapon. The investigation is ongoing.
