The Alamo Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (AAMPO) is asking the public to weigh in on about $39.2 billion in proposed transportation investments in its Mobility 2050 Update, the region's long-range transportation plan, according to a press release. The plan covers roadways, transit, walking and cycling connections and other transportation needs.
Several public meetings are scheduled in November, each starting at 5 p.m. The first was held Nov. 2 at New Braunfels City Hall in Comal County. Guadalupe County's meeting is Nov. 4 at the Seguin Public Library. Meetings for west and northeast Bexar County are both set for Nov. 12, at Robinette Community and Senior Center and the Northeast Senior Center. Kendall County's meeting is Nov. 18 at Patrick Heath Public Library. People who cannot attend can give feedback online at alamoareampo.org/yourmove.
Brendon Wheeler, AAMPO executive director, said public input shows whether the proposed investments match the needs and priorities of people who live and work in the region. The Mobility 2050 Update and the 2027 Transportation Conformity Determination, which checks whether the plan meets federal air quality requirements, are open for review through Dec. 16, 2026. The final draft will be considered at the Jan. 25, 2027, Transportation Policy Board meeting. The next plan update is expected within four years.
