Victoria County commissioners on Monday recommended GrantWorks for administrative services and Urban Engineering for engineering services. The work is tied to a Texas Community Development Block Grant application and its implementation by Water Control and Improvement District No. 2-Placedo for fiscal years 2027-28.

Four firms submitted proposals for administrative services, and GrantWorks received the highest evaluation score. Three firms submitted qualifications for engineering services, and Urban Engineering ranked highest.

Commissioners also amended the county personnel policy. Officials said language on longevity pay was left out by mistake when the policy was approved earlier this year. The amendment restores provisions that let commissioners set longevity payments based on months of service. County officials said the change was needed before longevity payments scheduled later this month.

In other business, commissioners approved final American Rescue Plan Act funding requests totaling $14,876.66. The requests include $2,275 for the Billy T. Cattan Hope Ranch facility and $12,601.66 for an intensive care unit renovation at Citizens Medical Center. The court also approved interim vendor payments totaling $268,497.86 for Citizens Medical Center.
