Leaders from the Cabinets of the Rio Texas and Texas Annual Conferences met in San Antonio from Aug. 24 to 28 for shared learning and strategic reflection. The Rio Texas Cabinet also held two more days of reflection and planning after the joint sessions.

The retreat included conversations with the H. E. Butt Foundation, H.E.B, Methodist Healthcare Ministries and Wespath. Cabinet members also took part in a CliftonStrengths exercise to better understand the gifts each leader brings to their work.

Bishop Cynthia Fierro Harvey said several ideas from the conversations have continued to shape the weeks since. One was the idea of identifying an organization's central outcome. For the Church, Rio Texas leaders said that outcome centers on discipleship and transformation.
