The Dallas Cowboys have waived running back Emari Demercado for the second time this season. The team also waived tight end D.J. Rogers, a rookie undrafted free agent from TCU who had been on injured reserve.

Dallas claimed Demercado off waivers from the Chiefs in August. The Cowboys first waived him on Oct. 8, but he cleared waivers and returned to the team a few days later. In two appearances for Dallas, he gained 15 yards on five carries.

Linebacker Marist Liufau and safety P.J. Locke are on injured reserve, with a fractured forearm and a torn plantar fascia, respectively. The Cowboys opened a 21-day practice window for both players last week. Demercado's release opens a spot on the 53-man roster, so either player could return this week against the Cardinals. The team had not announced any related moves as of Tuesday.
