Rain fell across Hutchinson County over the past week, with several locations recording more than an inch, according to the West Texas Mesonet.
The network reported 2.43 inches in northern Hutchinson County, 1.78 inches at its station near Lake Meredith and 1.69 inches in the Borger area over the seven-day period. The rain soaked lawns, pastures and farmland in a county that has had stretches of hot, dry weather.
The story said more rain will be needed for longer-term improvement in dry conditions.
