A 57-year-old La Pryor man died Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 28, in a rollover crash on Ranch Road 334 near the Uvalde-Kinney county line.
The Uvalde Volunteer Fire Department said its firefighters were called just before 4 p.m. to a crash with injuries and a person trapped in a vehicle. Crews found the vehicle overturned on its roof. The Texas Department of Public Safety said the driver of a Dodge Ram pickup failed to negotiate a curve and left the roadway. The truck overturned several times, and the driver, Refugio Quijano, 57, of La Pryor, was thrown from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Ranch Road 334 was closed for a time while crews worked the scene. The road runs between the Uvalde area and Brackettville. DPS is investigating the crash. No other injuries were reported.
