The Liberty County Sheriff's Office has arrested two men in connection with a robbery on Oct. 21, 2026, at the Dollar General at 3626 FM 1008 in Dayton. The office said two men entered the store around 5:18 p.m., filled handheld baskets with merchandise and left without paying.
The office said a store employee chased the men into the parking lot to recover the items. As the suspects' vehicle began to drive away, the employee was holding a basket and was dragged a short distance before breaking free. A cash deposit bag the employee was carrying was also taken. The vehicle was described as a red four-door passenger car or SUV with an unknown license plate.
Investigators reviewed store surveillance footage and identified the suspects as Shane Austin Archer, 31, and Dalton Len Parker, 35. Archer was arrested on Oct. 27, 2026, and Parker on Oct. 28, 2026, each on an outstanding felony robbery warrant. Both were booked into the Liberty County Jail and are charged with robbery, a second-degree felony. The sheriff's Criminal Investigations Division and Criminal Interdiction Unit investigated the case. The office said the investigation is active and ongoing and that no further information is available for release.
