The Dilley Lady Wolves volleyball team earned a spot in the state volleyball tournament on Tuesday, October 20, after sweeping Brackettville in three sets in district play. It is the program's first postseason appearance in seven years. Dilley won the first set 25-21 and the second 25-16. Brackettville fought hard, according to the report.
Dilley will face Johnson City in the bi-district round at Bandera.
DHS Head Coach Shandi Rios said the playoff berth means more than the appearance itself. She said it reflects the work and sacrifices the players made during the season, which she said included wins, losses, injuries and adversity. Rios said the team focused on trust and accountability, and she described the berth as a step toward building a lasting program culture.
