Hendrick Regional Blood Center is seeking O-negative blood donations to keep its supply stocked for emergencies. The center said O-negative blood is considered a universal blood type and can be used when a patient's blood type is unknown.
The first 10 O-negative donors who successfully give whole blood will receive a $25 United gift card. That offer is for O-negative donors only. Donations of all blood types are welcome, and all donors will receive a T-shirt.
The center, at 1701 Pine St., is open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon this week.
